Dear Friends & Neighbors, 

     As a father of two current TUSD students and a longtime Tustin/Santa Ana resident, I am invested in our community and schools.  My family has three generations of public school teachers. My grandmother and mother were both credentialled public school teachers. My wife is a public school teacher who has served for over 20 years in many roles, including as a mentor teacher. Our home has always been filled with stories from the classroom and a dedication to students and families. 

In my career, I have been tested and proven to be a caring and effective leader. For 20 years, I served as the National Director of JUCE, a media content company. In that leadership role, I led teams nationwide while simultaneously managing multiple projects across the United States. I have learned how to care for and communicate with people from different backgrounds, how to prioritize time, manage budgets and be accountable for my teams. Today, I am a small business owner who has also given back to our community in various ways, ranging from international aid trips to serving in food banks to being involved with coaching baseball for Northeast Santa Ana Little League and as a mentor for teen boys. These collective life experiences have helped shape me and prepared me to serve as a Tustin area 4 trustee. 

Despite the excellent foundation laid for TUSD, I am concerned with the current direction of the school district and its board as many of its action seem to focus more on politics than education. Let’s get politics out of the classroom and make sure parents have a voice in their children’s education. I am running for Tustin Unified School Board to partner with parents, students, teachers, and the community. I desire to work with all stakeholders, seeking consensus whenever possible while promoting transparency and ensuring parents have a voice in their children’s education.

• Safer schools and better partnership with Tustin city leaders
• Parental rights
• School choice
• Better policies that protect our children
• Honesty and transparency
• Academic excellence
